活動背景 Background
環保觸覺成立於2004年，是香港的非牟利慈善團體。我們希望透過調查、監察，點出社會有違環保的現象，並把分析結果傳遞予大眾，以提高香港市民環保意識及觸覺，從而達至一個更環保的社會，令下一代的生活及生態環境得到保障。
九年來我們為不同議題及個案發聲，包括城市規劃、節能減碳、廢物回收、保護海洋生物、減用即棄餐具，改善濫用空調等等，從監察政府及公私營機構的運作是否符合環保，提出改善建議，至協助學界推動環保教育，為社會培育未來棟樑。
過去的工作成果使我們十分鼓舞，包括成功爭取部份物業項目降低密度、選舉傳單「一戶一信」及部份連鎖食店減用即棄餐具等等；而環保觸覺過往舉辦的活動也深得社會各界支持，過去4屆的香港無冷氣夜、「關愛自然、尊重生命」生態保育推廣計劃、「袋袋相傳．生生不息」系列活動、「綠色聖誕學校計劃」、超市新年少用花紙等活動得到大眾的認同和響應。
「環保觸覺慈善步行籌款2014」將會是本會一年一度的慈善籌款活動，旨在加強市民的自然保育意識，培育大眾對自然環境的興趣與關注。
Green Sense, established in 2004 and registered as a tax charitable exempted institution in 2010. We aim to point out the non-environmentally friendly practice in society through research and monitoring. We enhance the environmental consciousness by education and publicity, in order to ultimately achieve an environmentally friendly society, for the sake of our next generation.
In the past nine years, Green Sense opined over a hundred issues in urban planning, energy saving & carbon reduction, waste recycling, protection of marine ecosystem, reducing the use of disposable utensils, ceasation of air conditioning abuse etc. We also monitor governmental and corporate operations and provide suggestions to improve their environmental performance. Furthermore, we promote environmental education among schools so as to nurture the youth for contributing a greener society in the future.
We have successfully urged the Government to reduce the density under some development projects, and paper consumption in joint election mails and address labels. We also have supports from various stakeholders of the community through our campaigns such as "No Air Con Night” for 4 years, "Love of the Nature, Respect for Lives" Educational Programme, Ecotours, “Plastic Bags – Regenerating by Reuse and Recycle” series, “Green Xmas Schools” , “Use Less Wrapping Paper” etc.
Green Sense Walkathon 2014 is our annual fund-raising event, we target to collect donation for local environmental conservation and educational projects, and to let the public learn more about Green Sense.
